How to Share the Gospel with Clothing

Most people won't walk up and ask you about Jesus out of nowhere. But they will ask about a shirt.

That's the whole idea behind sharing the gospel with clothing: you don't have to force a conversation. You just have to wear something worth asking about, and be ready when someone asks.

Start with a question, not a lecture

The best gospel conversations start with curiosity, not a speech.

A design that asks a question does that work for you. "What If Jesus Is Who He Said He Is?" makes someone stop and think. "What Does Redeemed Mean?" invites the exact question you want to answer. A verse on a shirt (Ephesians 1:7, Psalm 23, Galatians 2:20) gives people something specific to ask about.

You don't need a perfect opening line. The shirt is the opening line.

Keep your answer simple

When someone asks, keep it short and honest. You don't have to explain all of theology in one conversation. Try something like this:

  • What it means to you: "Redeemed means Jesus bought me back. He paid for my sins so I could be forgiven and free."
  • Why it matters: "It changed how I see my past, and it gave me hope for the future."
  • An open door: "Have you ever thought about what Jesus did for you?"

If they want to talk more, they'll ask more. If they don't, that's okay too. A seed planted is still planted.

Don't argue, just share

Not every conversation will go smoothly, and that's normal. You don't have to win an argument to share the gospel. Listen first, answer kindly, and let the Holy Spirit do the convincing. People remember how you treated them long after they forget what you said.

And remember: you don't have to have all the answers. "That's a great question. Let me look into that and get back to you" is an honest answer, and it often leads to a second conversation.

Wear it where life happens

This works best in ordinary places: the grocery store, work, school pickup, the gym, church. You don't need a special event or a stage. Everyday life is where most gospel conversations actually happen.

That's also why the design matters. A clear word, a real question, or a verse people recognize will do more than a shirt nobody can read or understand.

Every shirt also supports the mission

Here's the part people don't see at first: when you wear Clothing With a Mission, the conversation doesn't stop with you.

100% of our profits are reinvested into the Kingdom of God through gospel mission work, including helping sponsor missionaries, supporting outreach and evangelism, and creating opportunities to share the Gospel. So one shirt can start a conversation here, and help fund gospel work somewhere else, too.

Wear faith. Share the gospel. Change lives.
